The slumping Toronto Maple Leafs will try to shake off their worst loss of the season when they face the surging Montreal Canadiens tonight at the Bell Centre.

Montreal has an edge head-to-head, going 6-3-1 against their Original Six rivals over the past 10 meetings. Montreal dumped Toronto 4-1 as -145 home favorites the last time the teams met on Dec. 15.

The Maple Leafs (21-25-9) were humiliated 8-0 by the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, as -145 favorites at home. The score was well over the total of 5½.
  
Also Tuesday, the Canadiens (29-16-9) allowed two goals in the third period, but hung on to beat the slumping Ottawa Senators 4-3, as -135 favorites. The score was over the total of 5½.

The total has gone over in four of the past six meetings, and in five of Montreal's past seven overall.

Toronto is 1-4 in its past five, while Montreal is 5-2 in its past seven, 4-1 in its past five at home, and 4-1 in its past five at home against Toronto.

Vesa Toskala gets the start in net for Toronto and recently recalled Carey Price will start for Montreal.
