3 pm ET Colorado Avalanche at Detroit Red Wings

The Colorado Avalanche will try to pick up where they left off in Game 1 when they face the Detroit Red Wings in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinal series Saturday afternoon in the Motor City.

After Colorado scored first in the opener Thursday, Detroit stormed back with four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead. But Colorado clawed back and went into the third down 4-3, but failed to get the equalizer.

Colorado has run into some injury trouble at the most inopportune time. Star sniper Peter Forsberg was scratched from Game 1 with a groin injury and his status for Game 2 is uncertain. Winger Wojtek Wolski was injured and will not play in Saturday’s tilt. And the Avs were already without Marek Svatos, who’s out for the season with a knee injury.

As well, goalie Jose Theodore was pulled from Game 1 and returned to his hotel feeling ill. He is expected to play Saturday.

The game can be seen on NBC and TSN.

Betting Line: Detroit is a -200 favorite at Bodog while Colorado is a +170 underdog. The total is 5.

Betting Consensus: About 62 per cent of bets on this game are on Detroit.

Pick: Depending on injury issues, Colorado should even up the series.
