NHL bettors appear to like the San Jose Sharks as underdogs heading into tonight’s road tilt with the Calgary Flames, with 54 per cent backing a Sharks’ moneyline win.

The teams are even head-to-head, each going 5-4-0-1 over the past 10 meetings. They last met on Jan. 3, when the Flames edged the Sharks 3-2. San Jose had been a -170 home favorite, and the score was push against the over/under total of 5.

Each team has won three straight overall. The Sharks (28-15-7) allowed just 13 shots last night en route to a 3-0 shutout of the Edmonton Oilers. The Sharks won as -150 favorites and the score was under the total of 5.
 
Calgary (25-17-8) got a late goal to edge Northwest division rival Minnesota Wild 2-1 Tuesday, the Flames winning as -155 favorites and the score under the total of 5.

The total has gone Under in four of Calgary's past five games.

San Jose has been rolling, going 11-2 SU in its past 13 on the road, and 10-5 SU in its past 15 overall.

Calgary is 5-2 SU in its past seven at home, and 4-2 SU in its past six at home against San Jose.

The Sharks are expected to start Evgeni Nabokov in net, while the Flames will go with Miikka Kiprusoff.
