The Colorado Avalanche will be out for revenge when they face the Vancouver Canucks in a battle of Northwest Division rivals Friday night at General Motors Place.
The Canucks handed the Avalanche their first home loss of the season last Saturday, winning 4-3 in Colorado. The teams are dead even head-to-head, each 5-4-0-1 over their past 10 clashes.
Colorado (10-5-0) beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 at home in their last game Wednesday, while the Canucks edged the Flames 3-2 in Calgary Thursday night.
Colorado will be without defenseman Jordan Leopold (wrist surgery) while the Canucks are missing three of their top six defensemen, including Kevin Bieksa (calf) and Sami Salo (facial injury). The Canucks expect Jeff Cowan (hip) back in the line-up soon, but there was no word if he would be ready for Friday’s game.
The Canucks are expected to start Roberto Luongo in net, while the Avalanche will go with Jose Theodore, according to the Denver Post.
Colorado is 2-4 SU in its past six games against Vancouver, and 2-4 SU in its past six on the road against Vancouver. The total has gone under in six of Colorado's past nine games against Vancouver.

New York Rangers at Toronto Maple Leafs
The New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs couldn’t be more evenly matched as they head into their second clash of the season.
Both teams are 5-4-0-1 in their past 10 games head-to-head, with five games Over and fives games Under, and they have alternated wins and losses over their past three games going back to January. The teams last met on Oct. 27, when Toronto picked up a 4-1 win at Madison Square Garden.
New York (8-7-1 SU) beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2 in their last game Thursday, while Toronto (6-7-3 SU) fell 5-1 to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.
The Leafs will welcome back two key players from injury as defenseman Bryan McCabe returns from a groin injury and winger Darcy Tucker has recovered from a knee problem.
The Rangers may be without defenseman Marek Malik, who is listed as day-to-day with back spasms.
The Maple Leafs are expected to go with Vesa Toskala in net for Saturday’s game, as Andrew Raycroft was expected to start Friday against the Buffalo Sabres.
