The Dallas Stars will be trying
to extend their winning streak at the HP Pavilion when they
visit the San Jose Sharks in a Pacific Division matchup Wednesday
night.
The Sharks have won the past three tilts in San Jose, last
losing 2-0 on Oct. 17, 2006. Over the past six clashes in
San Jose, Dallas is 4-2 SU. Going back further is even more
concerning for the Sharks: San Jose is 6-13-1 SU in its past
20 games at home against Dallas.
The Stars’ road dominance bodes well tonight, as the
Sharks have been struggling at home, going 1-5 SU in their
past six.
Overall, the teams are evenly matched, with each picking
up five wins over the past 10 games head-to-head.
In their last game, the Stars (6-6-2 SU) shut out the defending
Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks 5-0 in Anaheim on Monday.
The Sharks (7-6-1) beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 on Saturday
in L.A.
The Sharks will be without injured winger Ryane Clowe (leg).
Dallas is expected to start Marty Turco in goal, according
to the Dallas Star-Telegram. Turco got the shut out in Anaheim
on Monday. The Sharks will go with Evgeni Nabokov, who got
the win in LA.
