Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadiens

The Detroit Red Wings take a three-game winning streak into Montreal tonight for an Original Six clash with the Canadiens.

It’s Detroit’s first visit to the Bell Centre in more than four years, since the Canadiens edged the Red Wings 2-1 on Oct. 20, 2003. The teams have only met once since then, a 2-0 home win for Detroit on Jan. 15, 2007. Detroit has the upper hand head-to-head over the past 10 meetings, going 7-3.

Tonight’s game will feature a matchup between the oldest goalie in the NHL and one of the youngest, as Detroit will start 42-year-old Dominik Hasek and the Canadiens will go with rookie Carey Price. It will be the first start in 12 days for Hasek, who’s 5-5-1 this season with a 2.90 GAA and a .864 save percentage. Price, meanwhile, has won six of the 10 games he’s played and posted a 2.84 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.

In their last game, the Red Wings (18-6-2) beat the Phoenix Coyotes 3-2 at home on Saturday, and Montreal (13-9-4) lost 5-4 to the visiting Nashville Predators, also Saturday.

Detroit is 1-4 SU in its past five games on the road, but 4-2 SU in its past six in Montreal.

The total has gone Under in four of Detroit's past six games, and Under in five of Detroit's past seven on the road.

Betting Line: Detroit is a 140-moneyline favorite at BetUS. The over/under is 5½.
